A Indian town as any other, except for four French streets at the waterfront and some good croissants. Strange mix really. “Indian” people born with a French passport who speak perfect French. It might be because they stayed 30 years in France after going there to study. Otherwise to be able to study in India they would have had to switch their French passport for an Indian one which is not really a good call if you want to travel ).
Funny fact: the well-spread cliché in India is that those Indians with a French passport living in Pondi (retired French army for the older ones) are lazy drunkards. I guess a French army’s pension in India does go a long way and keeps you away from work.
