Shiraz… I probably must come back to see Shiraz in the springtime! I wasn’t  impressed by the famous Eram gardens, under construction – I didn’t even take a single picture there, but it’s supposed to be beautiful. It was winter though. But it remains the city of poets, Hafez, Saadi and others. More importantly, I met plenty of new interesting people while in Shiraz, some of them I was to see again, and I met some older ones too, by chance. I also tried a new dish with a funny name, dizi, and I had an intense musical experience while at the Hafezieh (you can listen to it at the end of this mix). Oh, and in Shiraz I rode a bicycle for half-a-day, in the Iranian traffic, and I didn’t die! I am quite proud of that one in fact :)

Dizi in the making

Shiraz was my last “new city” in Iran. I then rushed to stay one night or two in Esfahan with a friend and went back to Tehran from where I left Iran and its incredible people to fly to colourful India.
